Definição de SI (novamente)

Vejam abaixo, o texto extraído do artigo comemorativo dos 10 anos (2001) do Information Systems Journal. Nesse artigo, os editores (David Avison, Guy Fitzgeralde Philip Powell) escrevem sobre a percepção do que é a área e enfatizam uma visão mais holística, diferente da visão inicial, presa a aspectos tecnológicos. Essa nota é para lembrar o que já tinha afirmado anteriormente, ou seja, a área de sistemas de informação está estreitamente ligada a aspectos sociais.

"It is now generaly accepted that the information systems world is one where
human, social and organizational factors are as important as the
technological. Curricula are much broader thant the early curricula, which
emphasized technological aspects. IS is well established in management
schools and also in computing departaents, and IS now has some departments to
call its own"
